With all of us worried about obesity in children, the more exercise the better. Several years ago when I was a room mother, I decided to hold a fruit sale instead of a bake sale. We made more money than we had ever made at a bake sale. The kids loved buying the fruit (it was presented creatively) at lunch. For all those doubters out there -- the fruit sales raise money and the kids love it. Out with the doughnuts, in with the fruit. Jog-a-thon , a good idea.
